According to TURKSTAT (Turkish Statistical Institute) 2021 data, Niğde, known as the "Agricultural City," ranks fourth in terms of per capita agricultural production value, with a value of 21,141 TL.

In Niğde, 47.01% of the cultivated land is used for irrigated agriculture. Based on the 2022 TURKSTAT data, Niğde's production quantities in various crops rank as follows in Turkey:

  • First place in dry beans with 58,000 tons (21% of Turkey's production).
  • First place in potatoes with 679,000 tons (13% of Turkey's production).
  • First place in barley with 43,000 tons (16% of Turkey's production).
  • Second place in white cabbage with 131,000 tons (20% of Turkey's production).
  • Third place in apples with 573,000 tons (11% of Turkey's production).
  • Seventh place in tomato for paste production with 204,000 tons (4% of Turkey's production).
  • Eighth place in nectarines with 2,500 tons (1.2% of Turkey's production).
  • Sixteenth place in cherries with 11,000 tons (1.7% of Turkey's production).

In Niğde, there are 44 Agricultural Development Cooperatives, 47 Irrigation Cooperatives, 12 Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, 1 Sugar Beet Growers Cooperative, 6 Chamber of Agriculture branches, and 9 Producer Unions. Additionally, there are 2 Cooperative Regional Unions, namely, the Livestock Cooperatives Union and the Niğde-Aksaray Irrigation Cooperatives Union.

In Niğde province, there are 177,034 head of cattle, with the majority of breeding taking place in the Central and Bor districts. The small livestock population is 611,701, primarily concentrated in the Central district.
